TheCity of Red Bay will hold a public hearing on Thursday, June 25that 3:00 p.m., at the Red Bay City Hall, 203 4th Avenue SE, Red Bay,AL 35582 to discuss the City’s submission of an application for the FiscalYear 2020 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.  The City is interested in obtaining allcitizens' input on community development needs within the city.  As part of the hearing process, citizens willbe asked to verbally assist in the completion of a Needs Assessmentdocument.  The document will detail whatthe residents feel are the strengths and weaknesses of the community.  The City needs as much local participation aspossible in order to reflect the true desires of the community as a whole, aswell as the comments relating to the proposed project application.  The State has established a maximumapplication request for each funding category. Activities that are eligible for funding include the improvement ofpublic works, public facilities, housing rehabilitation, and others allowed bylaw.  No displacement of persons will beproposed.

TheCity is proposing to rehab and/or replace aged, problematic clay sewer linesand manholes in the southeastern portion of its sewer system which causebackups, overflows, and increased treatment costs.  All citizens, including those in the targetedarea, are encouraged to attend to comment on the proposed activities. Ifyou cannot attend in person, or do not feel comfortable due to concerns relatedto COVID-19, you can mail written comments to Red Bay City Hall, Attn: CharleneFancher, P.O. Box 2002, Red Bay, AL 35582, or drop written comments off at RedBay City Hall prior to the June 25th hearing date.
